Protect Your Family, Pets, and Loved Ones From the Dangerous Dust
When you are in need of professional flooring removal services, such as tile, wood, or thin-set removal, hiring a company or contractor that uses the traditional method will undoubtedly produce a dusty mess that will require clean-up for months to come.
At most, the removal process will produce 1 pound of dust per square foot of tile floor. This means that a 500-square-foot tile removal project can potentially produce 500 pounds of dust!
Cutting Edge Flooring Services is the industry leader in dust-free flooring removal in the South East Texas region. This is thanks to a dust-free system called DustRam®, which allows us to encapsulate dust as it is produced. This eliminates the instance of airborne dust. Cutting Edge Flooring Services is the only Certified DustRam Contractor in South East Texas.
This means that we have access to new and improved generations of equipment and employ all components of the system during every removal project. It also means that our staff is specifically trained to use DustRam® equipment and is extremely knowledgeable about every element of the system. Our team not only specializes in dust free tile removal but we also offer other services such as floor installation, concrete sealing, staining, coatings, polishing, cleaning and restoration, and much more! Outdated Methods Expose You to the Dangerous Dust
Do Not Choose Virtually Dustless or Traditional Contractors For the Job
Not only does traditional tile removal produce a lot of mess but it also exposes you to crystalline silica dust. This is a known health hazard, according to OSHA, and an allergen and respiratory trigger for sensitive groups.
Crystalline silica dust has been identified as a carcinogen and prolonged exposure can cause silicosis, a serious respiratory disease. There is no reason to subject yourself to this harmful inhalant when the job can get done, dust free.
Outdated methods are not ideal because:
- They Are Not Dust Free (Filtering and Capturing Dust are Not the Same)
- Expose You to Tens or Hundreds of Pounds of Silica Dust
- Unhealthy (Not Good For Your Respiratory System)
- Outdated Equipment (Not Made or Designed to Capture Silica Dust Like DustRam®)
- Not OSHA Tested for Air Quality
- Hidden Costs (Respiratory Diseases, Professional Cleaning Companies Needed to Clean Up the Dust, & Risk of Bad Floor Prep Work)
- Virtually Dustless Means You Can’t See it But it’s Still There
Save on unwanted hidden costs by choosing DustRam® Certified Contractors for Dust Free Removal.

DustRam® Provides Exceptional Floor Preparation Work
In addition to the convenience and health benefits, the DustRam® System allows us to improve the quality of your next floor. This is because, on every project, we grind off all remaining thin set on the concrete slab. Many flooring removal or demolition companies do not do this, and you can see a pattern of thin set left behind by the scraper they use.
In these cases, the next floor is laid on top of old thin set. This method is not recommended, as the old thin set becomes the weakest point of the new floor, and it hinders the binding capabilities of the new adhesive, or thin set. There could be cracks and lippage in the floor as time goes on due to an improperly laid floor. That is the difference between employing traditional tools such as a scraper, which will inevitably leave thin set behind, and one of the advantages with using the DustRam® System.
SurfRam® Captures all Dust Expelled by the Thin Set Removal Process
Believe it or not, thin set removal is the dustiest part of the job, which is why traditional contractors do not bother with grinding it off. Even though scraping the thin set is extremely dusty, it is nothing compared to a dust storm created by using a grinder on the remaining thin set without the patented grinding attachment that DustRam® has designed.
Thanks to the SurfRam®, the grinding attachment created by DustRam®, we can capture all dust expelled by the thin-set removal process and prep your concrete slab for installation in the same step. Your concrete will be completely bare, smoothed out, and prepped for your next floor – and the entire process, from chipping the tile to grinding the thin set, and even picking up the debris is dust free!
